TakeCharge is a Physician designed, professionally develop application for hand held devices and personal computers. Our software lets physicians capture data in the way they would normally report encounter information so that it is extremely easy and intuitive to use.

Even physicians with no knowledge of billing codes or diagnostic codes can generate complete reports that are ready for input into their billing system. TakeCharge saves you time because it is "Smart," it makes a pre-selection of codes that may apply to your situation so that you don?t have to navigate through long lists to document your charges. Our application, behind the scenes, transforms your data into coded information that accurately reflects your encounter and leaves no questions for your biller or coder. Our application is very slim in memory usage. The complete program with basic data uses less than 250 KB, so even a basic Palm with 8 MB of memory is well equipped to handle the application.

Your data is no longer a prisoner of the Palm system and you are no longer limited to the reporting or printing capabilities of the Palm. TakeCharge is ready for the solo practitioner or the large medical group. Even physicians from different practices that share call can benefit from our system and exchange (Beam) information for weekend call and cross-coverage.

Features

Rounds - Our Rounds feature groups patients in a manner consistent with physician workflow to improve productivity. This screen provides easy access to vital statistics for efficient time management. It readily shows the number of hospitalized patients per facility and how many remain to be seen in any given day or time.

Outpatient - With a tap of the screen, physicians can easily change modes and select non-hospitalized patients to capture outpatient visits or consultations in the Emergency Department, Ambulatory Surgical Centers, etc. TakeCharge versatility accommodates any situation a practicing physician may encounter, including ?house calls.?

Diagnosis Coding - This is not the typical coding utility with thousands of useless and confusing codes. Only billable, clinically relevant diagnosis, are included. The physician selects a diagnosis described in familiar, clinical terms, and TakeCharge does the rest at the time of reporting. If a diagnosis is missing, it can be easily added at the handheld device and then properly coded with the desktop companion. The diagnosis list will grow with each physician as they continue to use the system.

Billing Coding - Using the same approach as with diagnostic codes, the physician is presented with short lists of only applicable codes described in familiar clinical terms. Evaluation and Management codes are separated from Procedure codes for ease of use. The help section describes the Evaluation and Management codes more extensively to provide the physician with a complete resource guide for appropriate billing of their services and improve their compliance with Federal and State regulations.

Medical History Tracking - With a few taps physicians can easily track Allergies, Past Medical History, and Past Surgical History for each patient. This added convenience is of tremendous value when the physician is on call and away from the medical record, and it is another reason why TakeCharge will make a difference in any medical practice.

Information Sharing - TakeCharge is designed for individual or multiple users. As multiple physicians capture patients? data and charges, all users readily share the information. This enables the person on call to have basic information about the patients and reduces data entry, also eliminating the need to generate sign-out sheets.

Cross Coverage - For physicians who share call with others outside their practice TakeCharge can prepare a detailed sign-out sheet, which can be printed or easily communicated to other TakeCharge users.
